Snow, or an icy blast of wind, won't stand a chance of entering with the foldover cuffs which feature a pretty snowflake motif that you'll love working on the outside and hidden ribbing on the inside for a close, snug fit. A gradient of gently falling snow creates a simple pattern for the main body of the mitten that's quick to work and stranded for extra warmth. Those eye-catching snow flake tips were inspired by the elaborately patterned crowns of fair isle tams – the thumbs feature a delightful miniature version of the same pattern. You'll find the rounded shape and simple thumb gusset makes for a comfortable, cosy pair of mittens. The pattern is written for a perfectly symmetrical pair, but no need to worry if the snow starts falling heavily and unexpectedly – they'll be just as comfortable pulled quickly onto the wrong hand!
