Learn more about the collectionA simple, elegant triangular scarf knit in the round in clean stockinette.
Borrowing the idea of knitting a scarf as a tube from commercial knitwear is a beautifully straightforward way to ensure that both sides look identical, and to prevent the fabric from curling. Look closer and you’ll find refined details like the perfectly tensioned slip stitch selvedge, which creates a crisp fold and keeps the two sides flat against each other. You’ll love working the soothing stockinette in the round, and anyone lucky enough to be given one will have the perfect finishing touch to any outfit.
You’ll begin the Mae Scarf at one tip, with a neat I-cord beginning that avoids working a tiny centre-out cast on. Then increases are worked along one edge until half of the desired length has been reached, at which point you’ll mirror the first half decreasing back down to the opposite tip. The multi-gauge pattern can be used with several yarn weights, doesn’t require swatching and includes numbers for both an on-trend mini length and a full size scarf, plus a classic bandana / kerchief style. The Mae Scarf is also easily adaptable to any length that maximises your available yardage – perfect for stashbusting!
The Mae Scarf is currently exclusive to the Knitworthy 9 collection and will be released as an individual pattern in mid-December.
