Weorf begins with the contrast colour inset border which is worked from end to end. This border combines elements of several traditional lace patterns into an asymmetrical pattern which is naturally longer on one edge than the other—without short rows. Yarn overs worked right at the edge of the border make it easy to pick up stitches from it for the centre, which is decreased inwards and joined at the centre top, and the edging, which is dramatically shaped into points.
