The simple, geometric pattern is easy to follow and perfect for colourwork beginners, while the shifts in pattern across the length of the cowl will hold the interest of more experienced knitters. The cowl is gently shaped to sit snugly around your neck and flare out around your shoulders. Before and after the stranded colourwork you’ll work a section of plain stockinette, beginning with a provisional cast on. When the knitting is complete the provisional cast on is removed and the two ends are joined together with a three-needle bind off, using a neat trick to turn the join to the inside — don’t worry there’s a video!
