Follow Your Arrow has been designed to work equally well in a solid colour or in stripes of two colours and instructions for both options are included.
You will receive files for all the clues separately and the full pattern pdf. Although the knitalong is now over no photos are included within the pattern in case you’d like to maintain the mystery aspect. However, if you do want to peek many, many photos of gorgeous finished shawls can be found on Ravelry.
4 stitch markers, if you wish to place markers between individual repeats of a stitch pattern you will need up to 39 additional markers (preferably contrasting).

There are SO many options. I’d suggest fairly solid colourways that won’t obscure stitch patterns in a fibre blend that blocks well. I’ve gotten a bit addicted to these and so far I’ve used the following yarns.
Old Maiden Aunt Merino Superwash 4ply in Ghillie Dhu and Seen the Ocean
Jamieson & Smith Shetland Heritage in Silver Grey
YarnPony ShowPony 4-ply in Roman Coin
I totally understand the choice not to swatch for a shawl, but make sure that you like the fabric you’re getting and remember that gauge affects the amount of yarn used — have extra on hand!
Fingering / 4-ply yarn
Solid Colour shawl:
680yds / 620m
Two Colours:
C1: 360yds / 330m C2: 320yds / 290m
