Learn to knit brioche on a small, manageable project! The Northwind headband is worked in brioche stitch, worked flat. The headband begins and ends with a stockinette tube. To complete the project you'll twist this tube and graft the ends together. The brioche stitch fans out on either side, almost like a bow.

It's a quick and soothingly repetitive project that calls for only one skein. This means exploring new to you stitches with one simple purchase or even a quick dive into your stash to see what's there. This is fast, small budget knitting at it's best.
Gauge
24 sts and 27 rows = 4” / 10cm in st st in the rnd with smaller needle.
13 sts and 32 rows = 4” / 10cm in brioche st on larger needle.

Available in 6 sizes from baby to adult x-large.

120 yds / 110m aran weight yarn with a soft hand.

Needles and notions
US 8 / 5mm 24” / 60cm or longer circular for working magic loop (2 circulars or dpns can also be used but if using dpns sts will need to be arranged onto 2 needles before and after brioche section).
US 10¾ / 7mm straights or circular for working back and forth in rows.
