The body and sleeves are worked upwards from the folded hems separately to the underarm and joined for the seamless raglan yoke. Shaping for well-padded bottoms is provided by way of a cute gathered detail at the back and the cuffs can be folded up to show the contrasting inner hem. The pointed pixie hood continues without interruption and is joined at the top with a 3 needle bind-off.
For the Fair-Isle band stitches are then picked up all the way around the front edge. The gap at the bottom is temporarily bridged with a short cast on and the Fair-Isle band is worked in the round with no shaping or purling. An easy I-cord bind-off gives a polished finish. The short steek is cut (not nearly as scary as it sounds!) to re-open the bottom edge and the zipper is installed. The jacket is completed with ribbon to neatly cover the cut edges and zipper tape.
