Shown in three colours, with only two colours per round, there's plenty of room for creativity. You could easily simplify things further with just two shades, or work every stripe in a different combination. Knit in Rauma Finull PT2, with an amazing range of over 100 colours, you can enjoy choosing the perfect palette for your style – or everyone in your family.
Cairngorm is worked bottom up in the round, with a contrast cast on worked using the alternating cable cast on – a fantastic cast-on for ribbing that you'll love adding to your skills toolbox. The hat pattern includes three sizes, and is written for a slightly slouchy length, with decreases neatly incorporated into the crown patterning.

"Cairngorm is personally nostalgic for me, when I was a small child my grandfather knit me several jumpers with stripes of simple colourwork. He combined Norwegian patterns shown in black and white with Shetland wool in 3 or 4 colours that my mum would pick out. The patterns aren’t taken straight from any one of those jumpers, but are a little sampler of some of my favourite wee motifs found in traditional colourwork from around Northern and Eastern Europe. Those jumpers made me feel special and beloved, and I hope that you, or anyone you gift the hat to, will feel the same way when wearing it. Cairngorm is named for Bill’s love of the Scottish mountains." - Ysolda
