Yarn overs next to the geometric lace edging increase from the cast on tip to the full width. The straight centre section adds a decrease to compensate for this increase and includes three stockinette wedges shaped with short rows. These wedges lengthen the bottom edge and allow it to lay flat, or wrap comfortably around your shoulders. For the final section the decrease compensating for the yarn over is changed to a double decrease, to reduce the stitches back down to match the initial point.
