Glenmore Mini is an easy top-down sweater with an oversized fit. It uses all of the same techniques as the adult sweater, just scaled down, so it's a great way to practice on a small project. 6 sizes are included, from toddler to tween, and the oversized style is perfect for maximising wear. We know how important that is when your knitting time is limited and they just will not stop growing! The textured stitch pattern looks fancy, but it's deceptively simple and uses only knit and purl stitches – if you can knit ribbing you can knit this. By the time you bind off you'll have mastered the skills you need to knit a whole wardrobe of handmade garments.
The shoulders are worked in one piece and then divided for front and back. The upper front and back are each worked flat and then joined in the round at the underarm. The body is worked in the round, and is easy to customise to your desired length. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armhole and the sleeves are worked top down in the round. They're completed with ribbed cuffs which can be turned up at first. The drop shoulder construction is comfy to wear and means that there is no sleeve cap shaping to worry about. The sweater is completed with a ribbed neckband worked by picking up stitches around the neckline.
