A yoked pullover I designed as a collaboration with my studio manager Bex. Her vision was to combine more affordable Létt Lopi as the main colour of a sweater and use Einrúm for the yoke, really highlighting its beauty.

The Bleideag pattern includes 15 sizes, with a finished chest circumference of 38" to 66", roughly equivalent to ready to wear sizes XS-5XL. Our models are wearing the size 7 with C/D bust darts with between 4 and 9" of positive ease.

In terms of yarn, we recommend Aran weight yarn with good elasticity. Wool or wool blends are ideal, and we particularly love Létt Lopi and Einrúm for Bleideag. If you'd like a little guidance, you can buy a kit which contains the pattern and enough Létt Lopi and Einrúm yarn to complete the project in your size, in a variety of stylish colour combinations.

Aran weight yarn with good elasticity, wool or wool blends are ideal. Shown in Ístex Létt Lopi (100% Icelandic wool, 109yds / 100m, 50g). MC – 0005 Black Heather Contrast colours shown in Einrúm L+2 (92% Icelandic Wool, 8% Thai Silk, 102yds / 93m, 50g). CC1 – 2005, CC2 – 2001, CC3 – 2008

Needles and notions

US 9 / 5.5mm 24” / 60cm or longer circular needle.

Additionally, for sizes 3–15 a 32"/ 80cm, and for sizes 8–15 also a 40"/100cm circular in the same size.

For these sizes, begin with the longest needle and switch to a shorter needle as necessary while working the yoke.

US 9 / 5.5mm dpns or circular(s) for your preferred method of knitting small circumferences in the rnd.

Stranded colourwork gauge is highly personal. You may need to use a smaller or larger needle for the colourwork.
