Or yet another beret pattern!
The pattern can be found in the new knitty and from the looks of things it has some wonderful company. I’ve just returned from my first rock climbing in about 6 years and I still have the nasty cold, but I’m looking forward to looking through it in the morning when I’m more awake.
If you’re coming here from either knitty or Neil Gaiman’s blog (Neil Gaiman linked to me – squee!) welcome, I hope you like my little site. The pattern for Coraline will be available soonish, hopefully within the next month.

Hello Ysolda,
I stopped by after seeing your lovely beret pattern and was pleasantly surprised to see that you’re local (I’m in Kirkcaldy). You photograph in your own creations so prettily, particularly when wearing red. I’m jealous. ;) Thanks for sharing the pattern.

The berets are lovely!
Both the berets and the photos are gorgeous!
I’ve enjoyed your work on your site for a little while now, and was excited to see one of your berets in Knitty! Great work!
I saw a beret on Knitty and guessed it might be yours…click the link…yes, it IS yours! Congrats on the publication!
Neil Gaiman linked to you?! *passes out and dies of shock/ jealousy/ whatever*
Just dropping by to say congratulations on your beret. It’s a great pattern to use up those single skeins of bulky that I don’t know what to do with (only so many short scarves can a girl make).
Congrats for the publication! It looks very fun.
I saw your lovely pattern in the new Knitty and suddenly I knew what to do with the the one odd, lonely skein of Magallanes that’s been sitting mournfully around my apartment for a year.
Congrats on Knitty (again.) And CONGRATS on the Neil Gaiman. Wooh!
I’m not surprised at all that you’ve got a lovely beret in Knitty; your beret obsession lately has been so fun to read about! You look amazing in those photos. Congratulations!
cute beret! also, *extreme coat envy*
Urchin is fabulous!
I knew it had to be you, Ysolda, just from the thumbnail on Knitty! Well done on another brilliant beret.
Congratulations – this is a lovely hat and one I’m very much looking forward to making!
you look lovely in these photos. so retro.
Lovely, perfect perfect perfect! And congrats on the very cool linking.
Admirable lipstick, btw. I love to apply red when I’m just at home but I sadly can never wear it out and about, I forget it’s on and end up with a hideous clown face.
Not just Neil Gaiman, Neil Gaiman via Susanna Clarke.
I’m just reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell, so that seems extra spectacular. Congratulations on it all.
Also – the red lipstick is perfect. So few do that well.
Neil Gaiman linked to you?!?!? Double squee! Triple squee!
This is another aborable beret, by the way. You are now officially The Beret Lady.
Neil Gaiman and Knitty. It can’t get much cooler than that.
Urchin is going in my queue.
I don’t think you have ever looked more glamourous! No wonder Neil Gaiman wants to link with you. I’m envious!
Congrats!!! I saw you on Knitty this morning and ran right over to your blog to congratulate you. You look BEA-UTI-FUL!
(as always) Congrats again! Beret Lady!
Lovely! Beautiful photographs, Ysolda. I don’t comment nearly enough, but I read your blog faithfully. I am so inspired by your work.
Update: I, eerrrmm, just had to knit it up. Like now. Only took a couple of hours…. and it’s lovely! I used some chunky from my stash, though I really want to knit it again with the Knit Global yarn. Photos at http://clarastitchandtotalbitch.blogspot.com/
I just saw this on knitty–its lovely! I’m also going to order gretel today. I’ve decided this year’s christmas will be the year of the hats.

Congrats on the beret in Knitty!!! I love the pattern. You are so beautiful in this photo-shoot! Red really is your color. I read you blog all the time and I just love your patterns.
Oh my God, Neil Gaiman linked you! That’s incredible! Plus, I saw your pattern on Knitty and got all excited. I must make it because I still have some bulky yarn laying around the house to use.
Gorgeous photos!
It’s lovely, as are you! :)
Marvelous Beret! Wow!
I saw your beret on Knitty and I can’t wait to get started. I also love the Gretel beret and just may have to order one. Great job! -Anne Denver,CO
Neil Gaiman provides all sorts of crafty inspiration- I made a necklace inspired by Neverwhere recently ( http://corvustristis.livejournal.com/12225.html ), and have been contemplating an American Gods/Anansi Boys related project recently.
I think Urchin may have to be my first beret. It’s so very cute and I think it’s the sort of hat I can pull off.
I agree – not just NG, but NG via Susanna Clarke… NG was just in Lund, on the same day that I was, but sadly I knew about it too late to go to the preview of Stardust… Besides, what with the last time I saw him in Gothenburg, I’m afraid I might indeed topple irrevocably into “demented fan girl”-mode if I “met” him again… It’s a blissful, simple existence though… (And here the grammar fairy would accost me for using an excessive amount of ellipses.)
Loved your Urchin pattern! I finished it this weekend, knit from some handspun yarn I did early in my spinning career. Thanks for the pattern & I hope you’re having an excellent holiday.
Your ‘Urchin’ is gorgeous, in both colourways. will take a look around your site!
OMG you look amazing in that first photo! – WOW!!!
Hi! Your pattern was the absolute perfect one for my (first ever) twined handspun yarn! So I made one – thanks for that one!
Your designs are amazing! I’m glad I stopped by. The photography is great too, really hightlights your work.
