Meet Poppy!

dressed!

She has a brand new red dress, with buttons.

buttoned up

She likes flowers, especially the smell of roses

mmm...

but it is just a little bit scary when they’re even bigger than her!

giant flowers!

She loves to snuggle mousie,

snuggle

but can’t wait to have a friend called Madeleine to play with!

next doll

Thank you for all of the wonderful name suggestions, it looks like you all have names picked out for your versions. The doll pattern will be part of the little collection I’m working on, and although it will be a while before it’s totally ready I promise it’s coming together. And after that I think it might be fun to do a collection of variations on the basic doll with a stuffed wardrobe full of clothes patterns. I mean other than the sweater collection I’m also working on, did I mention that? I’m quite excited to get back to those sweaters when the wee things are done.

She’s adorable! I don’t suppose there’s any chance of releasing this pattern early, like in time for Christmas knitting, is there? My niece would love her!

OK, I never did dolls as a kiddoo, but the shot where she’s snuggling Mousie? *ded of kyoot!* She’s lovely! I think my niece might like one….

So cute! I especially love the little red barrettes/hair ties at the front and the fact that she has a somewhat large forehead. My family used to tease me mercilessly about my forehead when I was a kid ;)

Poppy is the perfect name for her! I’m not even going to pretend that I’d be knitting one of these for an actual child, it would be for me. Then she could have a whole box of clothes and maybe a little gretel beret.

she is cute. maybe i needs a little poppy in crochet or whatever in her hair. a knitted doll is something special and i used to have the cutest knitting book of dolls as a child. i am so sorry it is not in my possesion any longer. they were a bit like her. you really are so clever at designing both clothes but now this…

Hello, Poppy! :)

I love the pic of her snuggling Mousie… you’ve warmed a heart here in the wilds of middle America! Thank you!!

I love Poppy. Appropriately red dress. Making toys always appeals to me, though I can’t always get them to look as good as the picture in the pattern!

I have knit 2 mice already, I can’t wait to have an owner for them. Your toys are like a glass of cold water, I just have to make one between other projects because they are so refreshing!

She’s so darn cute! I’ll eagerly await the pattern, as I know my daughter would love this doll very much, and she is, quite frankly, even cuter than the cute knit dolls I’ve seen before. I find very realistic dolls to be a little uncanny valley-ish, but there’s nothing more charming than something like Poppy!

Gorgeous – I learned to knit from dolls clothes patterns in my mum’s magazines. Any chance of aiming some of your patterns at young knitters? I have a five year old niece who I am teaching to knit. If I made her the doll she would have great fun dressing her if the designs were simple.

She’s adorable. The little details make her so special…the barettes, the mary janes, her adorable dress :)
