Beautiful Projects – Finnish Knitters
Some of you might have seen that Ysolda is travelling a little just now, teaching at Stephen & Penelope last weekend and now heading to Finland on a tour with Stephen West. There are more details on the events here. In the meantime I had a look at some of the amazing things made by knitters in the Finnish Knitters group on Ravelry and trust me, there was a lot to choose from to show here!
Sadelma’s stunning Veyla mitts are knit in Fibre Company Canopy Fingering, one of my favourite yarns of all time and perfect for when you need a little luxury on your hands.
Mari73’s amazing and incredibly cosy looking Vivian, knit in a new-to-me Finnish yarn that’s perfect for showing off the cables. (Photos are copyright Mari Heinonen.)
This beautiful Orchid Thief was knit by Surffiina in Malabrigo’s Ravelry Red colourway.
I wish I had this in my wardrobe! This is MinnaK’s Grey and Simple (or Cria from Little Red in the City), knit up in Madelinetosh Merino Light.
There are so many lovely Ishbel shawls in the world and IgnorantBliss has knit quite a few of them! This is her Strawberry Ishbel (her 5th) in handspun BFL. Gorgeous!
