Last night, after much ripping and re-knitting (with which the yarn coped with very impressively) I finished the second version of Snow White. I haven’t taken it off long enough to block it yet, but my mum was round this morning so I roped her into taking pictures.

It?s definitely my new favourite jumper, although it?s so cold here that I?m wearing it over a cashmere poloneck. This looks surprisingly good, but I?m still cold!
I haven?t shared a picture of the back of the first version, but I made it like a raglan without the front section. This didn?t quite work out, but I knew I didn?t want to have the sleeves going straight across the back either. The solution is a combination of both ideas, a sort of combo raglan and ?saddle? shaping.

I love how perfectly this fits at both the front and back. The stitches are grafted together at the center back. I knew I wanted to do this, but had to overcome the problem of not being able to graft the 2×2 rib neatly. The back detail was a practical way of overcoming the problem. Luckily I love how it looks and it also improves the fit.

I’m working on the pattern for this at the moment, and will probably be looking for test knitters soon, let me know if you’re interested.

Here’s the cabled beret I knit a few weeks ago.

Today I also added these pretties to my etsy shop. I know many of you are knitters and could easily make your own (see my patterns page) but thought you might like to see how the pattern looks in different yarns / colours.
